Project UpCycle I was invited to represent the Paramount Visual Arts Center, St. Cloud, MN at the American Craft Council's 2012 Show at River Center in St. Paul MN on April 20-22. The theme is "Upcycle".
Upcycling is a term that means transforming previously used materials into objects of improved style and function while still retaining a memory of what they once were.
This project was made from a door I found in a construction demolition dumpster. As a member of the Mid Minnesota Association of Woodturners, we provide woodturning opportunities to teens and adults in the local community at the Paramount Visual Arts Center's Thursday night Teen /Open Studio night. This is made possible by a grant from the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) through their Educational Outreach Grant (EOG).
