Summer 2011

A tree lost to natural causes such as weather, insects, disease or even construction can be an emotional experience. My wife and I encountered this situation in the summer of 2011 when high winds toppled a Redmond Linden tree. We planted the sapling 16 years earlier and enjoyed watching it mature through the years. We were saddened at the loss of this tree as it was the centerpiece of our front yard.
Remember Your Tree With an Heirloom

As our tree was cut up and hauled away, I kept a log to turn into a keepsake. A bowl like this will allow us to remember our tree for many years or even generations to come. I want to offer this service to others in similar situations.
Before you cut up your fallen tree for firewood or have it made into wood chips, consider turning it into a bowl, vase or piece of art to cherish for years to come. There are some steps to preparing a log to harvest for this process.
